I have been collecting cards since I was in the first grade. The first cards that I remember owning were from the 1970 Topps set. A handful of the cards were given to me by a family friend. I was instantly hooked. I had a stack of about 30 cards that I looked at often. When I was finished, I would throw them in a shoe box for safe keeping. Later on, I would wrap a rubber band around the whole stack to keep them in order.

It was joy a reading Scott's memories of the 1970 Topps baseball set, as well as his thoughts on players from the day. No doubt. Scott is a true and honest baseball fan. I remember how we used to quiz each other aboput baseball and other sports when we were youths in the 1970s. He had a great knowledge of sports then, and it is even greater today. I look forward to reading more from him.
